Welcome to MEF Paddock Services.

We can offer a whole range of services orientated towards the equine sector, be it harrowing or topping we are able to carry then out for you.  Below is a brief description of our services, in addition we can offer the hire of our tractor with driver to carry out any tasks you wish - we can also equip the tractor with a loader are a range of implements for unloading lorries, moving stone or stacking big bales.

We are now also able to offer selective weed killing for horse paddocks using our purpose designed boomless sprayer allowing us to access small and hilly paddocks, also able to be used on lawns etc.

Topping
Regular topping of the grass encourages the production of young sweet shoots that horses enjoy to eat. Paddocks are best topped at least once a month during the season.

Harrowing
This removes the old dead grass letting it breath again, removal of this thatch is desirable at least once a year.

Fertiliser
Grass is the best and cheapest food for your horse and like your horse the grass itself needs to be fed the correct nutrients. Our recommnendation will take into consideration the size and breed of your horse plus soil type and how to use the paddock.

Also on offer is a management service for your year round grassland management needs, from fertilising in the spring and any re-seeding to topping and harrowing during the summer.  We also offer ragwort control using a selective herbicide with only kills ragwort, this can be spot applied or whole paddock during in the early growing stages.
